Physical Features

Most of the Jharkhand region is part of the Chotanagpur plateau, which also extends to some parts of West Bengal, Chattisgarh, and Orissa. This region is made up of ancient stone Arkiyan Granite Tatanis.

The Parasnath Hill, at a height of 4,480 feet is the highest peak of the state and a major Jain pilgrimage center. Flora and fauna of the state is rich and it houses two national parks, Betla and Hazaribagh.
