Dadra And Nagar Haveli

History

This quiet and magical land of 72 villages has a crossed history. For one and a half centuries, the Portuguese ruled this land. In July 1954 the Indian nationalist volunteers liberated Dadra and Nagar Haveli and a pro-India administration was formed. The territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli became a centrally administered union territory with effect from 11th August 1961, under the 10th Amendment to the Constitution.
