A lovely beach within bike range from the city centre in the north is a pleasant surprise. Much better than most of the town beaches and with few spectators and a 1.5 km long promenade, the beach and the Promenade are the most delightful parts of the city and a stroll, sun bathe, and swim enhance the quality of experience.
On the beach front are located many sites such as a statue of Mahatma Gandhi surrounded by eight exquisitely carved monolithic pillars, and a war memorial. |
