Rajasthan

Introduction

Rajasthan, the Land of Kings, is a magnificent scenery of camels walking slowly over the soft sand dunes of the Thar Desert. It is a kaleidoscope of brightly turbaned men with mustaches and women with twinkling anklets along with colorful ghagras.

The landscape is spread with island palaces glistening on pleasant blue lakes, temples and fortresses situated on the hilltops of the rugged and rocky Aravalli, the exquisite palaces built during the reign of some of its former Rajput dynasties and well laid out gardens with pavilions and stalls, all of which add to the splendor and unusual charm of this majestic land.

But, Rajasthan is not only about forts, palaces, and culture. The state is also one place in India which has marched ahead with its development programs. Problems of the people have remained the central focal point and governance has been put in the hands of the villagers itself.
